I am Janitha, an avid Cape Town based wedding & lifestyle photographer and lover of life. Being passionate about telling visual stories - I love creative settings and capturing beautiful moments with emotion. I'm living the dream by capturing emotional moments for you to cherish. I believe that with anything in life - if you can dream it, you can do it!

My approach is professional, yet personal, giving every client the attention they deserve. My commitment is to deliver excellent quality service before, after and during any shoot to ensure you are at ease and enjoying every moment while creating memories. Being camera-shy, I walk the extra mile to make you feel comfortable in front of the lens.

My photography style is natural and genuine. Although I guide clients through a session, I embrace spontaneous moments as they unfold. Natural light is my main source of lightning and extra lightning might be used for creativity and low light conditions, normally at receptions.

Since I focus on delivering an excellent quality service and giving each couple the attention they deserve, I only take a limited number of bookings each season. Lifestyle shoots will be delivered within two weeks after the shoot and weddings within four weeks.

Things you might want to know before you book:

Once you've decided on a collection that will suit you, I'll send you a quotation with all the details you need.
A 50% booking fee will secure the date for you. More details will follow with email communication.

DO YOU ONLY SHOOT WEDDINGS?

I capture life's memorable moments in a natural setting (in other words, not in a studio). I capture weddings and elopements as well as family / maternity / newborns and couples / proposals / engagements . It may be an intimate newborn session at home or capturing your memories while on holiday in the Cape Town. Do not hesitate to contact me for more information on lifestyle sessions.

What type of lifestyle shoots do you offer?

Any memorable moment in a natural setting (in other words, not in a studio) is worth capturing. Do not hesitate to contact me for more information on lifestyle sessions.

WE ARE NOT FROM SOUTH AFRICA, HOW CAN WE BOOK YOU?

I love meeting clients from all over the world, some of them even become friends. Payments from outside SA can be made via Paypal in USD. Contact me for more information on how to secure your booking.

DO YOU WORK WITH VIDEOGRAPHERS?

I don't have a videographer in my company, but I can send you details of excellent videographers (that specialise in videography) whom I work with on a regular basis. If you wish to receive recommendations for videographers, just mention it in your enquiry.

Can we meet you before we book our wedding?

I would love to meet up. Once you've booked your wedding / elopement, we'll schedule a planning session to discuss your special day. Should you wish to meet me before you book, let me know. It is important to click with your photographer since we'll be spending quite a lot of time together on one of your most special days.

How many hours do you need to capture all the special moments?

I offer different options for different shoots. Get in touch for all the available options, [email protected]
Let me know what you have in mind, then we can determine how much time we'll need.
For an afternoon / evening wedding I would recommend a minimum of 8 hours for a photographer to spend with you.

What to expect when you are in front of my camera?

WE DON'T KNOW HOW TO POSE, CAN YOU ASSIST US?

Definitely! I know exactly how uncomfortable it can be in front of a camera. I will lead you through the session to capture spontaneous moments as they unfold.

What should we wear for our lifestyle shoot?

Just be YOU! Whether you want to dress up or just be hang out in a jean and sneakers, it is important to feel comfortable. Also keep the location in mind. If you book a shoot on a mountain which requires some climbing, I suggest you leave the high heals at home.
A few tips:

Plain clothes without logos / text (keeping it timeless)
Dress in similar colour tones (as a couple or family)
Wear clothes in which you are comfortable (if you are conscious of certain areas, don't wear tight fitted clothes)
All white shirts and blue jeans are old-fashioned
For outfit inspiration, Pinterest is your best friend.

What to expect after your wedding or shoot:

Do you edit the photos before handing them to the client?

After your shoot / wedding I handpick a selection of photos that tell your story best. I edit according to my style (what you see in my portfolio).
Janitha Photography does not offer extensive editing or digital manipulation. No RAW files will be handed to clients and are not for sale.

IN WHICH FORMAT DO WE RECEIVE OUR PHOTOS?

Lifestyle sessions: within two weeks after the shoot you'll receive a link where you can download your photos.
Weddings: within a month after the wedding you'll receive a personalised USB with your photos.
All my clients receive their photos in HR (high resolution for prints) and LR (low resolution for social media or websites).

CAN WE ORDER ALBUMS FROM YOU?

YES! I provide premium quality albums with the design included. Some of my wedding collections include albums, but you are welcome to order an album with a lifestyle session. You won't regret being able to display your precious memories in print format.
